The preferred manufacturing process for durable technical nonwovens is needle-punching using barbed steel needles. In cooperation with our technology partner, Texnology S.r.l., and other collaborators, Trützschler Nonwovens delivers complete production lines for felts and needle-punched nonwovens under the brand name T-SUPREMA.

Needlelooms play a central role in the production of high-quality needle-punched nonwovens. They bond the carded and cross-laid web, ensuring that desired mechanical properties such as strength, thickness, and uniformity are achieved.
Texnology, an Italian company, supplies various needle machines for the T-SUPREMA production lines. Depending on customer requirements, single-board or double-board machines are used for needle-punching from below, above, or both sides.Texnology’s machine design incorporates proprietary patents to ensure consistently high nonwoven quality, minimal wear, and thus, high availability of the needle machines.

Additionally, depending on the end application, our partner also contributes crosslappers, web-forming units, and/or felt drafters. 
Different types of crosslappers combine excellent web laying quality and high productivity with low energy consumption. The Stirovelo unit positioned before the crosslapper separates it from the roller card and corrects fluctuations in web weight using scanner data. This system enables automatic profiling without operator intervention.

The optional felt section serves to optimize fiber orientation and the MD/CD ratio of the nonwoven after pre-needling, enhancing throughput or achieving specific performance goals.
